Are you interested in learning about laws, policies and statewide initiatives impacting Daemen College and the constituents living, going to school and working in the 61st New York Senate district and the 146th  New York State Assembly district? If so, you need to look no further and should sign up to attend the Daemen College Distinguished Leaders Lecture Series that is scheduled to take place on the Daemen College campus in the Wick Campus Center Social Room on October 7th at 5:30 PM.

A Notebook Checklist is a Necessity

Prospective students have a particular checklist that they are looking to cross off during a college visit. The list stretches across a variety of topics. Each student is in search of a unique college experience. When visiting colleges this fall make sure to be prepared by creating a checklist of what would encourage you to attend and what may discourage you from attending. This list can entail class sizes, cost of attendance, career placement, scholarship range, athletics, student activities, etc.

Faculty Focus

Faculty Focus: Dr. Angela Diaz – My First Semester

Like many students, the Fall 2013 semester was the start of my career at Daemen College. I got to experience all that Daemen had to offer right along with my freshman students. Throughout the semester I attended a number of lectures and activities on campus. I taught three classes this past semester–2 sections of American History to 1877 and a class on The Latin American Diaspora in the United States. I found teaching here at Daemen rewarding in a variety of ways, and next semester promises to be equally exciting.

Chinese Culture Event

The fierce winter storm swept the northeast region if the United States. Buffalo’s winter is extremely cold this year. As a student from Shanghai, it was the first time to experience a snow storm and I was excited to have a white Christmas, although I think most people in Buffalo must get tired of the weather.

My name is Wu, Qingying and I am from China. I’m a graduate student majoring in Global Business, and this is my second year at Daemen. My friends recommended Daemen to me and I unexpectedly met students from all over the world in a small college.  People here are friendly and welcoming.
