Quiet Hero Book Cover

Renowned Emmy-winning TV host, veteran correspondent, and best-selling author Rita Cosby gave a Daemen audience a first-hand account of history and current events. Cosby’s talk, “A Front Row Seat to History…and Getting Out Alive!” served as the keynote address to the 2013 Daemen College Academic Festival.

Cosby, who anchored highly rated primetime shows on Fox News Channel and NBC, is currently a special correspondent for the top-rated CBS syndicated newsmagazine Inside Edition and host of The Rita Cosby Show on WOR radio.

Cosby shared her fascinating discovery about her father, a WWII Polish Resistance fighter and Nazi prisoner of war, who was saved by American troops, a story told in her bestseller, “Quiet Hero: Secrets From My Father’s Past.” The critically acclaimed book now often serves as a centerpiece for discussions on the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder on veterans and their families.
