Laurie Shreiner Workshop

9:00 am - 12:00 pm - Wick Center: Wick Social Room

HELPING SOPHOMORES SUCCEED
The second year of college presents numerous challenges for students as they attempt to connect to a major, experience increasingly rigorous classes, and often feel they are invisible to the institution that has turned its collective attention to the incoming students. This session will focus on ways faculty and administrators can help sophomores thrive during this important year.

Dr. Laurie Schreiner has been principal investigator on two federal grants to promote student success and retention and has directed national projects on retention and student satisfaction. She is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Higher Education at Azusa Pacific University in southern California, having spent 30 years in higher education as a psychology professor and associate academic dean.
