This boating course is a solid learning device for the new boater as well as a great refresher for the experienced salt. It covers these topics: types of boats, safety equipment that is required on board, fueling, getting underway and boating courtesy while underway.
Navigational rules are discussed both inland and international, definitions of terms, responsibilities between vessels, navigational aids, sound signals and required navigation lights. Government regulations are reviewed, both Federal and New York State. Basic plotting is covered, tips on anchoring, docking, handling in adverse conditions, trailering, water sports safety, personal watercraft operation and of course knots and lines, complete with hands-on demonstrations.
This course covers all the requirements for New York State and upon completion and passing the exam, all candidates will receive a certificate to operate a Jet Ski in New York State.
