Daemen Provides Free Income Tax Preparation for Nearly 400 Individuals and Families

Students Helping with Tax ReturnsTax assistance -- with a special focus on veterans and their families -- was provided by Daemen accounting students at 20 locations, including six sites sponsored by Erie County legislators and one by the Erie County Controller’s office.

Daemen Student Named Human Resource Student of the Year

Ashley GrantAshley Grant, a Business Administration student, was named the Human Resource student of the year at the annual Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association Awards dinner at Adams Mark Hotel on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.

In addition to this award, she received a $500 scholarship from the BNHRA.

Daemen Employees Graduate From the Second Class of the WNY Consortium of Higher Education’s Women’s Leadership Institute

April 10, 2013 Doris Murphy, Linda Koller, and Kim Pagano were recognized by the WNY College Connection as they graduated from the second class of the WNY Consortium of Higher Education’s Women’s Leadership Institute. They join Sherrie Gustas and Laura Sommer as graduates from the program.

The Women's Leadership Institute is intended for women who are preparing for higher education senior leadership positions. The Institute is designed to engage women in evocative dialogue regarding the complexity of issues facing higher education.

Sport Management Students

Sport Management StudentsDaemen Sport Management students traveled to Cleveland on Wednesday April 10 for a behind the scenes look at what takes place to conduct an NBA game. Students had a chance to meet players after the game.

The Sport Management Club sponsored a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Saturday April 13. The winning team JT3 was led by Physical Therapy major led by Connor Vankouwenberg defeated a veteran PT team that included Professors Greg Ford and Laura Favaro to capture the Championship title.
