My name is Christen Lawicki. I graduated from Daemen College in May 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Childhood and Special Education, with a concentration in Social Studies. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and was part of Daemen College’s Honors Program. I was a member of Sigma Pi Epsilon Delta, a special education honorary, for two years, and served as Historian during my Senior year. I had the privilege of partaking in a variety of events and fundraisers in the special education community through organizations such as SABAH, Variety Kids, and Daemen College’s YALT program for young adults with disabilities.
My heart lies in teaching because it is my hope to be able to make a difference in people’s lives. Impacting the life of just one child will help me achieve this goal, and the teaching field will provide me with numerous opportunities to do so. I also have a passion for learning, so that I can continue to grow, share new knowledge with others, and be able to better reflect on my abilities as a teacher. I plan to continue this learning while I am in graduate school to earn my Master’s Degree in Literacy.
